Week 10 (2020/21)
We hope all of our children and families had a restful half term, the children returned full of energy and ready to play and explore. Here are some of this weeks photos:
It was bonfire night on Thursday, so we spent a lot of the week talking about bonfires and fireworks. As well as which ones the children had seen, this led to a discussion on how to be careful around fireworks. The children used various resources to make different firework and bonfire pictures and they made their own edible sparklers using chocolate fingers and sprinkles!
The sun was really bright last Tuesday and the children realised they could make shadows on the floor, they were fascinated with how tall they looked and how the shadow copied everything they did, we then made shadow puppets with our hands and talked about why the shadows had appeared and what would make them disappear.
Primary school admission applications open on the 9th November. You have to apply online via www.essex.gov.uk/admissions and follow the instructions, please remember to check which school catchment area you are in and make sure your catchment school is on your list somewhere. Schools would normally be hosting open days or evenings at this time of year to give parents and children the opportunity to look around the school and talk to the teachers, however due to the current restrictions this is not possible so a lot of primary schools within our area have put virtual tours on their websites to give you an idea of what the school is like. The deadline for applications is the 15th January 2021.
We are looking forward to another fun week of learning and will update you next week with more photos….
