Attendance Policy

Policy Statement

We aim to ensure all children attend the setting as and when they are required to. We make this clear in our prospectus and all parents are aware if our expectations.

Our policy reflects the visions and aims of our setting by encouraging staff,  parents / carers  and children to maximise the learning experience so all children reach their full potential and providing clear consistent  procedures for involving parents and carers relating to the settings attendance.

Regular and punctual attendance is of vital importance in ensuring all children have full access to the EYFS. Valuable learning time is lost when children are absent or late. Children should arrive by 9am for morning sessions and 12:15pm for afternoon sessions. Arrivals after this will be marked as late on the registers.

Procedures

If a child is unable to attend the setting we ask that we are notified by a phone call or text before 8:30am on the day of absence stating the reason for.

If we do not receive any notification we will call the parents to find out why their child has not attended. If we cannot contact the parents directly we will leave a message. If the same child is absent the next day without notification we will attempt to contact the parents again and if we fail to have any communication within 48 hours we will contact the local children services to advise them of the situation.

Attendance is monitored and reviewed every half term and if a child’s non attendance falls below 15% in one half term we will call a meeting with the parents to discuss this unless we are aware of the reason already.

Please note, if your child is not funded you will be invoiced at the beginning of each half term. Payment is expected in full within 10 working days for the duration of the half term. No refunds will be given if your child does not attend unless we are unable to operate. Weekly payments can be arranged at the discretion of the manager, but all sessions must be paid for in full whether your child attends or not each week.
