We are a non profit making, committee run Pre School who have been established within Thundersley village for over 50 years.
We are able to offer up to 30 hours funded childcare for up to 35 children per session. We, also, accept 2 year funded children as well as children not yet eligible for funding.
Our aim is to provide a stimulating and caring environment, where children do feel safe and secure. We offer them the opportunity to develop and learn through play and exploring. Our ultimate aim is to have prepared your child for their transition to full time education at a local school.
We are able to offer opportunities for play both indoors and outdoors due to having the facilities for free-flow play inside or outside. We
We welcome all children from 2 years to 5 years old and follow “The Early Years Foundation Stage” curriculum. This curriculum is set out in a document published by Dept for Education and Skills called ”Practise Guidance for The Early Years Foundation Stage”.
Our qualified, experienced and committed staff help children by dividing the learning experience into 7 areas although we believe all areas are interrelated:
1. Personal, Social and Emotional Development
2. Communication and Language
3. Physical Development
6. Understanding of the World
7. Expressive Arts and Design
We are inspected by OFSTED to ensure we meet their standards for learning, development and care for children up to the age of 5.
Fresh drinking water is available at all times and healthy snack is offered at each session to supplement each child’s “5 a day” quota.
Our staff are commited, experienced, loving and caring. We have specialist rained staff in SENCO and ENCO. We are paedatric first aid trained and work extremely hard to make all our children individually feel safe and welcome. All having children of our own, we strive to create the best environment and atmosphere for our children to ensure stability in their learning space.

Welcome back, we have 12 new starters so far this term and all have settled in very well.
The Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum has been reformed, this mostly effects the final year when the children are in foundation stage at school, however it will affect how we work and assess the children in our care.
One change that will affect our reporting, assessments and therefore the children’s learning journeys is that children are no longer assessed within age brackets for achievement, this means that we must change our assessment tools, our development graph will be changing slightly but we will explain it all in more depth in your children’s folders.
We are planning for Christmas already and hope to be able to put together a presentation for our parents and families as we always did prior to Covid. We are also hoping to run our present palace, as soon as we have confirmation on both we will let you know.
